"OLDSMOBILE MEANS BUSINESS IN '57" HAND PUPPET
- 1957 General Motors (unmarked). 9" x 9". Printed fabric body with soft vinyl head.
We offer a scarce advertising toy promoting Oldsmobile automobiles. It was probably given to the children of prospective buying adults at car dealerships.
The unusual puppet depicts an imp-like character with the words "Oldsmobile Means Business In '57" printed on the fabric body front.
A odd automotive promotional toy with nice eye appeal.
Condition is considered FAIR with miscellaneous surface/stain/edge wear. Extensive (but readable) litho fading on printed fabric body. Fabric has loosened considerably at top hole area, but can still be adjusted around vinyl neck for display purposes. Mild edge fraying with minor sewn reinforcement on one corner of body sock. No fabric tears apparent. No vinyl splits or separations apparent.
Overall, despite defects, we feel this uncommon puppet is still in very displayable condition by most standards (see photos). I
t would make an scarce early find for the OLDSMOBILE, CHARACTER PUPPET and/or VINTAGE ADVERTISING MEMORABILIA enthusiast. On a condition code scale of 1 to 10, the above listed item(s) rated - (6).
