    Description

This is a very special and unusual antique buckle I believe likely dates to the 1910s.  The bar on the back is marked PAT'D MCH.23.13 F.N.CO.  I believe this means the patent date was March 23, 1930 by F.N.Co.  The buckle itself is stamped Hanan & Son which was a shoe store from the 19th century to the mid-1930s.
The clear, pink, blue and green rhinestones appear to be original--none missing.   The stones do show age with some minor color variation with some darker than others.  Overall they are glittery, particularly the clear ones.  The setting appears to be pot metal showing wear typical for age including some darkened crevices and edges as well as scuffing and scratches.  The bar also has some bends and wiggles along with spots. The buckle measures about 2 1/8" across by slightly over 1 1/2" high.
I would wear this on a velvet ribbon as a dress buckle, but it could also be used in other ways as well.  I do have the matching shoe buckle in my possession, but the bar on the back is missing and it's also missing a number of stones.  If you have interest in it, I'd consider selling it for a lower price.  Just contact me.
