    Description

For bid is an original 1930's Union Oil Company 76 gasoline station premium: An automobile decal featuring the company's 76 logo behind the town name "EUGENE."  Eugene is the hometown of the University of Oregon in Lane County, Oregon, on the wWillamette River.  Decal is in decent condition with a diagonal crease to the upper left corner.  But it is complete.  Produced for Union 76 by the Anson W. Thompson Company of Los Angeles, California.  This decal was never used.  The Union Oil Company began to use the Union 76 moniker in 1932.  This probably dates from around 1935 or so.  Probably kept as a souvenir while driving around the Oregon on a road trip.
