This is GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL item from the Communist era, probably made in 1970s-80s – NOT a recent replica!
The badge is made in brass gilt finish and red enamel, measures 67 mm wide and 23 mm tall. The central shield with numeral “1” indicating the highest, 1
st
qualification level is a separate, superimposed part.
The badge is in excellent condition! The enamel is perfect, the gilt finish is still bright, and the pin attachment is intact. There is some lacquer along the edge of the shield that doesn't completely fill-out the border , but this appears to be a manufacturing flaw. Otherwise, this is a well-made piece. A relatively scarce pair of aviation wings to add to the Cold War collection.
