    Description

Imperia Russian Collar Tab Insignia of an Employee or Officer of the Vistula Railways, 1897 – 1917.
GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL item from the Russian Empire, not a replica or reissue!
The badge is in brass, 30.6 mm tall x 25.0 mm wide. It features Imperial double-headed eagle with a scroll bearing the abbreviated Russian name of the railway:
    Привислинские
    Железные
    Дороги
(it can be directly translated as “near Vistula Railroads”). The name was used starting from 1897 when several railroads on the territory of Poland – which was then a part of the Russian Empire - merged into a large network. The name was used only until the breakup of the Russian Empire and independence of Poland in 1918.
The obverse of the badge is in nice condition. There are no noticeable dings, visible scratches, or significant wear to the details of the emblem or writing. The attachment prongs on the reverse of the badge are missing.
A very interesting insignia from Imperial Russia / pre-WW1 Poland to add to the collection of railway memorabilia!
