Soviet Medal of a Veteran of the Armed Forces of the USSR.
GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL Soviet-made decoration made at the USSR Mint and officially during 1970s-80s – this is NOT a replica or a souvenir! It was awarded to active duty servicemen, usually officers, for 25 years of uninterrupted service. Despite its name, the medal was issued not only to the personnel of all branches of the Soviet Armed Forces, but also to eligible officers in the KGB Border Guards and MVD Internal Army troops. Unlike jubilee medals of the post-war period, this medal was issued only to active duty personnel, not to retirees, so it’s far less common than many other Soviet medals of the period.
The medal is very well made, shows typical quality of the Soviet Mint. The medallion is in silver plated brass with high quality “hot baked” red enamel covering the star. The medal measures 32 mm in diameter.
The medal is in GREAT condition! Shows some light wear and occasional blemishes but no serious damage of any kind. The enamel is perfect, and the black finish on the obverse is largely intact. All details are nicely defined and sharp. The ribbon shows some age but is clean and nice.
