    Description

The item up for sale is a beautiful, vintage Degenhart Glass "Bird with Berry" (a.k.a. "Bird with Seed" or "Bird with Cherry") open salt cellar in Forest Green, a lovely, deep green.  This bird is unmarked, which means it was made sometime between 1958-1972.
These bird salts were produced from 1958 to 1978 by the Crystal Art Glass Company of Ohio, which was owned by John and Elizabeth Degenhart. In 1964, after Mr. Degenhart passed away, Mrs. Degenhart took over the company and became known as Ohio's First Lady of Glass.  During her reign, she created at least 145 different, gorgeous colors of glass, each with its own unique name.
The bird measures approximately 3" x 2" x 2" and it is in excellent condition, with no damage or repairs.
